Merisa obtained the Bachelor of Commerce & Law at the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 1998 and her Bachelor of Law from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2000. Merisa went on to obtain her Master of Law, again at the University of Pretoria, in 2002 and was admitted to the High Court of South Africa in August of 2003. Upon moving to Canada, Merisa obtained her Certificate of Qualification (for foreign trained lawyers) from the National Committee on Accreditation and was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in January of 2019 is currently an active member in good standing of the Law Society of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association. Merisa engages in the general practice of law with a focus on Family Law, Wills & Estates, Real Estate and Civil Litigation. Merisa has a special in Alternative Dispute Resolution and in 2021, Merisa expanded her practice to include providing civil and family mediation services and obtained her Qualified Mediator (QMed) designation. She is also a recognized Family Mediator pursuant to the King's Bench Act, 2023. Merisa's extensive legal experience in both Canada and abroad as well as her experience in litigation and mediation allow her to bring a unique and diverse approach to helping clients resolve their legal matters efficiently and effectively.
